Vice Ganda reacts to repurcussion to Pacquiao's slur

MANILA, Philippines — Comedian Vice Ganda is among the first celebrities to call out Manny Pacquiao over his statements against same sex marriage.

          In a Twitter post on Wednesday, the comedian reminded his followers and bashers that the issue is not him but about the "serious remark" made by Pacquiao.

          He also asked netizens not to divert the issue.

         "I am not the issue. This is not about me. It is about a serious remark that affects the entire LGBT community. Don't divert the issue," Vice said.

          He also said, “A joke of a comedian is different from a statement of a ‘politician.’ So why take a joke seriously and take a serious statement as a joke?”

          Vice is not the only celebrity to hit Pacquiao over what many international media outfits have called his "homophobic slur." Lea Salonga, John Lapus, Boy Abunda and even American TV personality Perez Hilton have criticized the boxer for his comments.

         “Last point, We are talking about common sense. You're running for senator? This is my question, this is just my personal question: do you think I – or our countrymen in this studio or those at home – would I vote for a person who doesn't see me as a person? Would I vote for someone who thinks I am worse than an animal? Manny, the answer, in your own words, is common sense,” Boy Abunda said on his night show, Tonight with Boy Abunda.

        “You can say that you don't agree with same-sex marriage, but to say that gays and lesbians are worse than animals, that's not right!” Ai Ai Delas Alas said.

        “Read before you click, think before you speak," Ai-Ai advised.

        “For me, he’s in government right? Whatever is his personal opinion, he should keep it to himself. He should just shut up. He’s acting like a girl,” Nora Aunor Said. Nora also added that Pacquiao is a womanizer and gambler which is worse than animals.
